General Information before Traveling

1. Yellow Fever Vaccine Certificate.

2. Kenyan Visa can be obtained in advance via Online Platform OR at the Nairobi International Jomo Kenyatta Airport, immediately after landing.
3. Currency: US Dollars, Euros, Kenya Shillings are all accepted as a mode of settling Bills.

We advice all our Clients to carry the U.S dollars with series over 2000 (Year of Manufacture) Any U.s dollar below the series 2000 Is Not Accepted by the Local Banks. This is because of Money Counterfeit.

4. While on your Safari and you may wish to retrieve money from your A.T.M Card that is possible with the help of your Driver Guide. Master Card OR Visa Card all work well in Kenya. They money will be in Kenya Shillings.

5. You are advised to carry your Cameras and Binoculars for use on your Game Drives.

6. Basic Personal effects such as Mosquito sprays, Medicine, e.t.c.

7. To avoid inconveniences on your journey we advise our Clients to take close watch on their Luggage's especially ensuring they are packed by the respective Airlines.

8. When you arrive and land in Nairobi Airport, you will go through the Security checks, then to the Visa Payments, after that you will arrive through the "INTERNATIONAL ARRIVAL LOBBY" Here there are so many people waiting for their Clients. We advise you to look for our Paging Board written "Kenya Finest Tours & Safaris" and “Your Name” inscribed on it.

Cancellation of a booking or failure to join a tour will result in retention of funds by Kenya Finest Tours & Safari as follows: Upon receipt of written cancellation by the tour client:
1) In case it’s cancelled or reduced 35-14 days prior to the day it was originally blocked, 15% of the amount paid will be charged.
2) If the reservation is cancelled or reduced 14-2 days prior to the day it was originally blocked will result in 33% of the amount paid.
3) If the accommodation is canceled 24 hours before arrival, 100% of the total amount paid will be charged.
4) If the accommodation is not cancelled 24 hours before arrival, an additional 20% of the deposit amount is charged as administrative fees (For cancellations 1, 2); the balance, depending on the cancelation category, will be reimbursed as per client’s bank details and instructions.

Kenya E-Visa Application Procedure

Travelers wishing to travel to Kenya for business purposes, family visits or Kenya safari holidays must apply for an advance e-Visa from 01 September 2015. Below are the initial requirements before application of the e-VISA.


Before you start with the online application;-
a. Transit Visa Requirements
1. You require an onward Ticket to apply for a Transit Visa

Entry Requirements (On Arrival)
1. Passport Valid for at least Six Months
2. eVisa Printout from
3. Travel itinerary
4. Supporting letter e.g. letter from company or Invitation letter for business visits/family visits. or
5. Hotel bookings/details about places to visit if going as tourist.

b. The types of Visa include:
1. Single Journey Visa - Issued for Single or Multiple entries to persons whose nationalities require visas to enter Kenya. Costs $51 (**For Business or Tourism travelers)
2. Transit Visa: Issued for periods not exceeding three days to persons whose nationalities require visas to enter Kenya and who intend to transit through Kenya to a different destination. Costs $21
3. Diplomatic Visa: Issued for Single or Multiple entries to holders of Diplomatic passports who are on official duty

c. Photo requirements during registration:
1. The photograph must be in color.
2. It should have a white background.
3. It should have a close up of your head and top of your shoulders so that your face takes up 70-80% of the photograph.
4. It should be in sharp focus and clean.
5. It should be of high quality with no ink marks and creases.
6. The photograph must show you looking directly at the camera.
7. It should be 5.5cm * 5.5cm (207px * 207px).
8. It should show your skin tone naturally.
9. It should have appropriate brightness and contrast.
10. The photograph should be a recent one not more than 6 months old.
11. It is to be taken without headgear.
12. Photograph can be taken with headgear, after consideration on case to case basis if the applicant wears headgear on religious grounds. The main characteristics of the face must be apparent from the photograph. Chin, nose, eyes and eyebrows must not be covered, the forehead should be uncovered to the extent that the shape of the face is apparent.
13. It should be without hat/cap.
14. It should be with the applicant's hair tucked behind his/her ears.
15. The photograph should not have any staple marks.
16. Scanned & color photocopies would NOT be accepted.


Bearing in mind the above requirements, you are good to go.

4. Click on the ‘Create an Account’ Button
5. Once Logged in, Select Department of Immigration services.
6. Select submit Application.
7. Select Kenyan Visa.
8. Select the type of Visa and read the Instructions Carefully.
9. Fill in the application form.
10. Pay Using visa card, Mastercard and other debit cards.
11. Await approval via email
12. You may as well log in to check STATUS . If under the APPROVAL section it shows “ISSUED”( as shown in the image below) – Then it means it is ready for printing

13. Click on “ACTION” then Go to “VIEW”
14. Go to “DOWNLOADS” and print the eVisa from your eCitizen account.
15. Present your printed eVisa the immigration officer at the port of entry.

1. Visa processing fee is non-refundable.
2. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
3. The possesion of an eVisa is not the final Authority to enter The Republic of Kenya.
4. Engaging in any form of business or employment without a requisite permit or pass is an offence.
5. A visa is required prior to entry into The Republic of Kenya.
6. The e-Visa printout must be presented at the port of entry.
7. It should take at least 2 working days to get your eVisa.
8. Each adult visitor to the Republic of Kenya is required to submit evisa applications in their personal citizen account. Parents can apply for their children in the parents account.

There are some nationals exempted from obtaining the visa (Category 1 Countries). You can check out the complete list by clicking on . It is trite to check out the list since some Nationals of certain countries such as Afghanistan, Somalia, Iraq, Tajikistan e.t.c. cannot make e-Visa applications on the eCitizen Portal.
